Family, Flavor, and a Whole Lot of Love

🧡 Baby-Q in Midland: Family, Flavor, and a Whole Lot of Love

This past weekend, I got to do one of my favorite things on this earth: be with family. And not just any family moment — we celebrated my brother, sister-in-law, and their soon-to-arrive baby boy with the sweetest little Baby-Q shower out in Midland, Texas.

And yes, there was BBQ. And yes, there was spice. And yes, there were tears (the happy, sun-drenched, pass-the-napkins kind).

🔨 Toolkits, But Make It Adorable

In true crafty-Texan fashion, we built wooden tool-kit inspired centerpieces (I know, Joanna Gaines would be so proud). Each was filled with locally grown flowers and packed with the perfect San Antonio-inspired lunch trio:

  • 🌶 Tio Pelon’s Salsita
  • 🥨 Schilo’s Spicy Mustard
  • 🔥 BBQ Station BBQ Sauce

The flavors were big. The vibes were bigger.

👶 A Beautiful Mama, A Sweet Baby, A Whole Lotta Heart

The mom-to-be was glowing (as in: magazine-cover glowing). The baby bump was adorable. And every detail of the day reminded me of how lucky we are to have a family that shows up, packs in, and makes time — even when we’re spread across Texas like a brisket platter.

As the oldest of five, I don’t take these moments lightly.

We’ve got kids, jobs, long drives, and chaotic calendars — but when it matters, we find a way to come together. And it always feels like coming home.

🌶 A Little Taste of San Antonio in Midland

Because no celebration is complete without a little spice, we brought some San Antonio flavors to the party. It was so special to share our city’s best with people we love — and watch it disappear from plates like magic.

If you’re looking to bring the BBQ vibes home (without driving 5 hours or packing your trunk with mustard), check out our Taste of San Antonio box — perfect for cookouts, cravings, and flavor-fueled memories.

💛 Final Thoughts from a Sentimental Sister

There’s just something about being together.

Laughing around the table.

Passing babies from lap to lap.

Reminiscing while sneaking extra mustard for your sausage wrap.

It reminds me why I started San Antonio in a Box in the first place — to bottle that feeling and send it wherever it’s needed.

So cheers to baby boys, BBQ toolkits, and families that keep showing up.

We can’t wait to meet you, little one.
